The company was founded in March of 2017 by Ubah Bulale with the hopes of creating a sustainable business model with an organic approach to creating content and counterbalancing the mainstream offerings.

Our Team

Ubah Bulale

CHAIR + FOUNDER

Ubah Bulale is from Stockholm, Sweden, yet considers both NYC and LA to be home. Ubah is a business professional with a long career working with enterprise startups and F500 companies providing deliverables and optimal resources for driving success.


Trent Walker

Co-Founder + CFO

Trent Walker is a Co-Founder of Cerebral Safari and acting CFO of Cerebral Safari. He has spent two decades in financial services, holding Managing Director titles in technology and trading at Credit Suisse, Barclays, where he was global head of Front Office Risk for Prime Services, Head of Technology at BlueCrest and currently head of Development at MSCI. Walker was granted a PhD in Mathematics at the University of California at Berkeley and also taught at UC Santa Barbara.


Alexandra Gwynn

PRODUCER/WRITER 

Alexandra Gwynn started her experience in media as a student attending S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. For two years she assisted in talent acquisition at Discovery Communications, development at NBCUniversal and production for indie films.


Danya Abt

LEAD EDITOR/ STORY PRODUCER

Danya Abt is an independent documentary filmmaker on an endless hunt for great stories. Her short films have screened at the Museum of Modern Art and at film festivals nationally. As a producer and editor she's contributed to series televised on VICELAND, National Geographic TV and for CNN's Great Big Story. She has lectured on storytelling and editing at SUNY Buffalo, Sacred Heart University and The New School as well as DCTV and other community organizations.


Flemming Laursen

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Flemming Laursen is a Danish filmmaker and cinematographer specializing in telling compelling stories involving science and technology. He has worked with Vice, NBC, BET, Al-Jazeera, HBO and the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, creating both long and short-form documentaries. Laursen earned an M.Sc. from Brooklyn College in 2011. He is currently co-directing the documentary "Blackout" for Cerebral Safari Group, as well as teaching Video Journalism.


Isabel Sadurni

PRODUCER

Isabel Sadurni is a film editor with over 15 years experience in filmmaking. She collaborates on feature films, shorts and series with independent and commercial filmmakers who share the belief that a story told well can change the world.


BOARD OF ADVISORS

Lee Zlotoff is an award-winning writer, producer and director of  lm and television with over a hundred primetime credits to his name. Among his more notable creations is the iconic MacGyver TV series that has continued to run around the world for over 30 years since its debut in 1985.

With over 23 screenplays sold to date, Darryl is one of the top box office grossing African-American screenwriters in the history of Hollywood. Darryl began his professional writing career in television.

Jon Weissberg is a NYC-based writer and producer. He is currently the Director of Development for Oliver Platt. Previously, he worked for Jean Doumanian, Focus Features, Anthony Katagas and interned for Judd Apatow. Jon is represented by Geoff Morley at UTA.
